Because of an old leg fracture my leg was very crooked. This would make it very difficult to get the knee aligned properly. Thanks to Dr. Gherini’s skills my leg is not only straight, pain free but I able to do all the things I like to do.

— Brenda Hoek, RN, Knee Replacement Patient

When Scott Gherini first came to Ukiah, I scrubbed with him on a total knee case. When I got home I told my wife Brenda that I had found the surgeon to do her knee replacement. He did the surgery and her knee is working fine.

— Kenneth J Hoek, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, Retired

I was in so much pain. It was all I could do to get out of a chair. My wife Kathy (RN) said I should go see Dr. Gherini. Doctors scare the hell out of me, I play golf with them! I took her advice and now I don't even know its there. He did such a good job, it’s better than my other knee. I never have a problem with it. I can't say enough good things not to mention he's a hell'uv a nice guy.

— Perry Ramsey, Total Knee Replacement Patient

Having this surgery was the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. I knew when the pain prohibited me from taking walks with my husband around Lake Mendocino, it was time to do something. And I’m so glad I did.

— Nancy Keyser, Total Knee Replacement Patient

In 1964 at the age of 18 I was in a horrific auto accident, as a result I ended up with both knees in very bad condition. I was referred to Dr. Gherini in 1998, one of my biggest blessings! As I said both knees were bad, my right knee was the better of the two so that was my first knee replacement. A very successful surgery and I will add, I still have that knee to this day! Yay for me!

When it was time to start thinking about replacing my left knee Dr. Gherini realized my left femur, which was severely injured in the accident, was not straight enough for a knee replacement so he first had to straighten the femur. That surgery was successful so the knee replacement surgery was scheduled. To make a very long story short; with the severity of my condition, Dr. Gherini saw me daily and I mean daily including weekends, so he could clean and redress the incision. Again, with the severity of my condition the prosthetic knee was removed. A year and a half later I had one final successful knee replacement surgery. I still have that knee, too! Yay for me!

I am forever grateful to Dr. Gherini and grateful for him as well. I’m grateful for his knowledge and his skill; when it was needed, he thought outside the box to not only save my legs but my life!
